About our Trips.
We have two trips on the Fox
river, and one on The West Branch of the Dupage River.
The Fox River
Trip 1 South Elgin to St. Charles $60.00 (2 people)
This 7 1/2 mile trip is
our most popular as there are no dams to portage. It is a 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hour paddle. It starts below the dam in
South Elgin and ends above the dam in St. Charles, at the public parking lot on the river, 1 block north of route 64 (North Ave) on RT 31.
Trip Two: Elgin to St. Charles, $70.00 (2 people)
This
10 mile trip adds 3 miles to trip one. It starts by the Grand Victoria
Casino in Elgin and is a 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hour paddle. There is one dam to portage in
South Elgin, which is an easy carry.

The West Branch of the Dupage River.
Trip
Three: $70.00
Wayne to Warrenville. Our newest trip is a 10 mile
wilderness journey through undeveloped forest preserves. It is for the more
experienced paddler, as there may be downed trees to navigate around. The
absence of power boat traffic makes for a serene and peaceful trip. The river is
about 15 feet wide at the start and about 25 feet wide at the the take
out. This trip is a 3 1\2 to 4 1\2 hour paddle. We meet on St. Charles road
at the SE. corner of the bridge over the West Branch of the Dupage River, and
end at the Mack Rd landing near Rt. 59. A new parking area is now open at the put in, and the first mile of a new bike path has been compleated. This trip is not offered during periods
of low water. At least two canoes must be rented.

the currents are swift and treacherous. Look for signs or buoys alerting
you of dams!
Do not dive into the river because the depth can vary
greatly. Please be careful and wear shoes.
PORTAGES - Be alert and Look for signs or buoys alerting you of
dams! Please avoid dropping or scraping canoes. DO NOT TAKE CANOES
OVER DAMS!
